The Blood Center of Iowa is an independent, nonprofit, federally licensed organization providing blood and blood products to 46 hospitals in 44 counties across Iowa. For more than 45 years, The Blood Center has relied on charitable community members to volunteer their time and blood in order to maintain an adequate blood supply for our cities, families, neighbors – maybe even you.

Blood donors are the “life blood” of The Blood Center of Iowa and we strive to provide a wide array of opportunities to make your experience with us unique and rewarding. These include:

  • The Give For Life program allows donors access to their donation and scheduling history, and track their Online Store purchases and points.
  • An online store recognition and reward program that awards points to donors following every blood donation. Points can be spent on a variety of gifts.
  • Online donation scheduling allows donors to schedule blood donation appointments at mobile blood drives or donor center locations.

Every two seconds, someone, somewhere needs blood. Just one blood donation can impact the lives of up to three different hospital patients. At The Blood Center of Iowa, we strive to help people every day; and in order to do that, we need blood donors every day. We need neighbors helping neighbors - people who want to make an impact on a local level. Because at the end of the day, it’s about achievement, it’s about service and helping our communities.
